TO RELEASE FACTUAL REPORTS ON 2009 TRANSIT SYSTEM ACCIDENT
IN BOSTON ************************************************************ As
part of its continuing investigation into a transit system
accident in downtown Boston, the National Transportation
Safety Board will open the public accident docket
on Wednesday, November 10, 2010. On
May 8, 2009, a westbound Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority
(MBTA) light rail passenger train struck the rear of
a stopped MBTA train on the Green Line in Boston. Approximately
46 passengers sustained minor injuries. The
information being released is factual in nature and does not
provide any analysis. It will include investigative group
factual reports and other documents from the investigation.
All of these materials will be made available
at 10:00 a.m. ET on November 10 on the following page
of the Safety Board's website: http://www.ntsb.gov/Info/foia_fri-dockets.htm#RS Additional
material will be added to the docket as it becomes
available. Analysis of the accident, along with conclusions
and a determination of probable cause, will come at
a later date when the final report on the investigation is
completed. This
