SEATS STILL AVAILABLE FOR DECEMBER 2009 NTSB MARINE SAFETY

COURSE

************************************************************

The National Transportation Safety Board's course, Marine

Accident Investigation (MS 101), scheduled for December 7-

11, 2009, at the NTSB Training Center in Ashburn, Virginia

(near Washington, D.C.), still has openings for interested

mid- to senior-level marine industry professionals.

The weeklong course covers the Safety Board's processes and

procedures during a major marine accident; reviews human

factors, medical factors, and electronic data elements in a

marine investigation; offers best practices for

comprehensive and thorough interviewing techniques; and

shares report preparation guidelines.

The course will be led by senior NTSB investigators who will

use examples from recent NTSB investigations to demonstrate

particular aspects of the investigative process.

This course was sold out when it was offered for the first

time by the Board in January 2009. More than 100 individuals

representing U.S. and foreign government agencies, maritime

trade associations, and a variety of marine industry sectors

attended the course. A sampling of comments from previous

course participants may be viewed here:

A more complete description of the course, the registration

process and the cost may be found on the NTSB Training

Center website at
