NTSB LAUNCHES TO FISHING VESSEL ACCIDENT IN CAPE

MAY, NEW JERSEY

Washington, DC -- The National Transportation Safety Board has

launched a go-team to participate with the U.S. Coast Guard in the

investigation of a fishing vessel accident in Cape May, New Jersey

Marine investigator Michael Karr is leading the NTSB team and is

accompanied by a naval architect and a marine engineer. 

 

On Tuesday, March 24, 2009, the US F/V Lady Mary, a 71-foot, 105 gross

tons vessel, sank 65 miles southeast of Cape May, New Jersey.  Three of

the seven persons aboard the vessel were located.  As part of its

investigation, the Safety Board will interview the one survivor.  Four

persons are still missing.
