NTSB HOSTS JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE TO ANNOUNCE A MAJOR 
ADVANCEMENT IN AVIATION SAFETY

The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a joint 
press conference on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 with the U.S. 
Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Aviation 
Administration (FAA) to announce an important step to save 
lives in aviation safety.

The press conference will be held at the NTSB's Training 
Center in Ashburn, Virginia at 10:30 am. There will be a 
tour of the Training Center and an opportunity for media to 
observe the TWA flight 800 reconstruction that is used as an 
educational tool for students at the training center.  The 
tour will begin at 10:15 am followed by the press 
conference.

NTSB Chairman Mark V. Rosenker, U.S. Secretary of 
Transportation Mary E. Peters, and Acting FAA Administrator 
Bobby Sturgell will be the speakers.  

The NTSB Training Center is located at 45065 Riverside 
Parkway, Ashburn, Virginia 20147 on the Northern Virginia 
campus of The George Washington University, which is ten 
miles north of Washington Dulles International Airport.
