NTSB TO RELEASE FACTUAL REPORTS ON CESSNA 310 ACCIDENT IN
FLORIDA

************************************************************

As part of its continuing investigation into an accident in
which a twin-engine aircraft crashed into a residential
area, killing the two occupants of the airplane and three
people on the ground and seriously injuring four others, the
National Transportation Safety Board will open a public
docket and release a factual report on Friday, May 9, 2008,
at 11:00 a.m. EDT.

On July 10, 2007, at about 8:35 a.m., the pilot of a Cessna
310 operated by NASCAR, en route from Daytona to Lakeland,
Florida, reported smoke in the cockpit, declared an
emergency, and was attempting to land at Orlando Sanford
International Airport when the airplane crashed into two
houses.

The information being released is factual in nature and does
not provide any analysis. It will include investigative
group factual reports on aircraft performance, in-flight
fire, materials laboratory test results, maintenance
organization and processes, and other documents from the
investigation.  All of these materials will be made
available at 11:00 a.m. EDT on May 9 on the following page
of the Safety Board's website:

http://www.ntsb.gov/Info/foia_fri.htm

Additional material will be added to the docket as it
becomes available. Analysis of the accident, along with
conclusions and a determination of probable cause, will come
at a later date when the final report on the investigation
is completed.

This will be a document release only; no interviews will be
conducted.
