Hi Everybody,I want to learn Linux Device Driver development.I installed my Linux System and configured the kernel source 2.6.24.3 on it. So I want to know how to start the learning linux device driver development from scratch? Can anybody give me some best idea on how to start Linux Device Driver from basic? How to cross-refernce the linux source code? I have already following books1. Linux Device Driver Edition 3 O'relley2. Linux Kernel Developmet Robert Love Please give me some ideas.
First of all, I really suggest you read those books. Getting the examples from LDD3 to work on current kernels is sometimes an exercise itself. This should give you some hands-on experience at least.
And if, by then, you still need some ideas, have a looksy here: http://kernelnewbies.org/KernelProjects http://kernelnewbies.org/KernelJanitors/TodoSomething in there might catch your eye. Or you might start helping fixing bugs...
