In my opinion smplayer with mplayer backend is the best media player
available under Linux today. getting the latest smplayer version is no
problem - but with mplayer it is. The version which ships with Ubuntu
Lucid and all PPAs i know of are outdated. currently i have compiled it
from SVN myself, which is not an easy task - especially for beginners.
You are not making this easy for distributions because you do not
"release" often - but the SVN version always have major improvements
which no cine-maniac can miss.
it would be great if you could provide recent builds of mplayer, with
all the bells and whistles for Ubuntu Lucid. they don't need to be
updated daily, but what about once a month?
thanks for making this great program and for considering this!
