migration&upgrdade

Hello,

Our customer wants to change their operating
system from HP UNIX  to LINUX  that SAP R/3 works on. Their current
configuration shown below.

         HP-UX
Rel. 11.00  ( 64-bit )
           
Oracle RDBMS Rel. 8.0.6.00  ( 64-bit )
           
SAP R/3 Rel. 4.0B   ( 64-bit )

Future configuration will be:

        Linux
Red Hat AS Rel. 3.0 Update 2   ( 32-bit )
           
Oracle RDBMS Rel. 9.2  ( 32-bit )
           
SAP R/3 Rel. 4.7   ( 32-bit )

We examine all restrictions and define a
road map for this upgrade - migration process. Our action plan is shown
below:


-1-        Upgrade
Oracle database version  from 8.0.6 (64 bit)  to 8.1.7(64 bit)

-2-        Change
 Oracle database wordsize from 64 bit to 32 bit
-3-        Migrate
r/3 & database from operating system HP-UX Rel. 11.00  ( 64-bit
) to Linux Red Hat AS Rel. 3.0 Update 2   ( 32-bit )
-4-        Upgrade
Oracle database version  from 8.1.7 (32 bit)  to 9.0.2(32 bit)

-5-        Upgrade
sap r/3 version from 4.0B to 4.7 Enterprise Edition


But we seen there is a restriction to migrate
Linux Red Hat  with SAP R/3 4.0B. Your internet site recommends SUSE
Linux Enterprise server 8.

Please examine our  steps, and if you
have any suggestions share with us.
