As long as you do not redistribute the trademarked parts you are free to
do that. You just cannot call it Red Hat linux. You could however call it
Renee Lee Linux. Google for "pink tie linux" or "green shoe linux" for a
couple of examples of this.

I would not know why not!! As I said in another message people are already
doing this.

Contrary to popular belief Linux Red Hat or otherwise is far from dead.
In fact as long as you redistribute it unmodified you can even redistribute
Fedora Core and call it that.

Seriously, what part of this whole thing makes you think Linux is in danger
of anything??

Linux is alive and well. If you want to see a very active development group
join the Fedora lists and watch for a week or so. OK so it is not called
Red Hat Linux any more. If I named it foobar linux but used the same
development team as a base and added some of the finest developers that
the Open Source movement has to offer how is that a bad thing??

HTH,

...............Tom

PS. Any possibility you could stop cc'ing everybody every time you reply
to a message on the list and just reply to the list??

A reply to the list is sufficient. This is a low traffic list.

Tnx.
