One has to remember that what is easy to one may not be easy to another. Knowledge of the Linux O/S is required to properly secure the system for protection from outside hackers. The basic install if you defer to the default setting do not guarantee your system will not be broken into from the outside and used for things as a mail relay for spamming. If you do not have minimal knowledge of what needs to be changed when you install then you leave yourself open to security breaches. The first installation cdrom is bootable, so you just boot from that and follow the instructions that the installer presents.
