A friend of mine wants to try Linux on his old (about 1995) Compaq computer. However, when we tried to install RedHat 6.2 it couldn't load the GUI-type installer, because (I think) there was a built in video card on the computer and not a separate one. We probably could have installed it via text mode, but Don (my friend) didn't want just a command prompt interface, which is what I thought we'd end up with if we installed. Is there any way to hack the GUI's into working with his computer? Thanks. -- Red Hat Linux release 6.2 (Publisher's Edition) Kernel 2.2.14-5.0 on an i486 1:06pm up 2 days, 4:24, 2 users, load average: 0.29, 0.62, 0.37 "Veni, Vidi, Deleti" (I came, I saw, I deleted your files) Absolutum obsoletum.
