Dear Gabriel Popescu, Once you wrote about "I need a solution": GP> I need to update 10.000 files with an information of 50 Bytes (not GP> KBytes). To be more precisely, I need to put 50 Bytes in each of these GP> files. The problem is that I want these files updated in only one second. GP> Sure, the system must be reliable and I don't have to lose any data. The GP> things that I can consider are: creating some threads to work in the same GP> time and a good hardware (I mean a machine with 4 processors, 4 GB of GP> memory). Also, I want a backup system using RAID for duplicating the data. As to your question, I cannot advise anything, since I had no need similar to yours. But the specs for your machine do really surprise me. 10.000 files x 50 bytes = 500.000 bytes, which is less then half a megabyte. Why do you need a machine with 4GB of memory? ;) -- Best regards, Leonid Mamtchenkov, RHCE System Administrator Francoudi & Stephanou Ltd.
