Hi, is it possible to know the serial number of a SATA hard disk from within linux (eg. fedora core 2)? I'm building a cheap fileserver with as many SATA disks as possible (and software raid), but if a disk breaks down, I would like to figure out which disk exactly without much trial-and-error. I don't find any info regarding this on the net and /proc/scsi doesn't seem to contain the needed info in my case. Any other tool/way of doing this would be fine as well of course ...
