Thanks to all who replied to my port requesting info on command line applications for linux to list and describe on-board hardware. A number of apps work well such as dmidecode, lspci (lists all pci devices), lsusb (lists usb devices), but I think using lshw works about right for me. Thanks to all who responded. However, in listing the various hardware components on my Poweredge 2450 Dell, it lists both my CPUs fine but says the second one is disable. Talk about surprised and dare I say even shocked. Trouble is, I am not sure this is correct as when Bind starts up, it sees and says it is using 2 cpus. Anybody know how I can verify that the second cpu is or is not enabled and functioning and, if indeed it is disabled, how I can enable it again.
