I'm setting up my new SuSE 9.2 box, and chose to use vsftpd as ftp daemon (seemed easy enough to configure at my taste). I use the 2.0.1 version from the SuSE distribution. In my old arrangements (on Alpha Tru64 with "stock" ftpd) I had my own crontabs collecting the entries in ftpd log and converting them to HTML pages. They require a neat log. I find I can obtain such a log with xferlog_enable=YES (log_ftp_protocol=NO) however (and the same is true for the much verbose log_ftp_protocol) the connecting hosts are shown with their IP and not with their fully qualified domain name. I can't find a vsftp.conf variable controlling this. Is this a feature of vsftpd ? or of the SuSE distribution ? or is it a misconfiguration of my machine ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lucio Chiappetti - INAF/IASF - via Bassini 15 - I-20133 Milano (Italy) For more info : http://www.mi.iasf.cnr.it/~lucio/personal.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________ LinuxManagers mailing list - http://www.linuxmanagers.org submissions: LinuxManagers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx subscribe/unsubscribe: http://www.linuxmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/linuxmanagers
