How to block IM

Hello everyone,

I would like to block in my company firewall the use of IM and file sharing
programs. I already know which ports to block, (thanks to this site:
http://testweb.oofle.com/messaging/MSN/index.htm) but I can't get it to work
in my iptables setup. Anyone here has done this before?
