Thanks to everyone that replied... Bishop Steve Sandau Mike Shafer John Julian Uwe Weber Bob Vickers Still don't have a much of an idea why this is occurring but found a workaround on Google. 1. Have removed the 'DENY' statement from my /etc/hosts.deny which now reads: ALL: ALL@ALL, PARANOID 2. The following hosts.allow statement permits me to print: lpd : LOCALHOST UNKNOWN : ALLOW I'm pretty certain that the only thing that counts there, other than 'lpd', is the 'UNKNOWN' string. Bottom line is that the print request is received from an 'unknown' source and there isn't much hosts.allow wiggle room. If it's a bug, perhaps it'll be addressed in a later release. Thanks, all. -------------------------------------------- Jim Coleman Unix Administrator GE Corporate Global Computer Operations Jim.Coleman@corporate.ge.com _______________________________________________ LinuxManagers mailing list - http://www.linuxmanagers.org submissions: LinuxManagers@linuxmanagers.org subscribe/unsubscribe: http://www.linuxmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/linuxmanagers
