<Original posting below> Hi agn, first of all, apologies for the late summary - didn't have much time for the server, tasks were increasing in my job... Thanks to: "Jeremy Cohoe" <jeremy@illuminatedtechnologies.com> Klaasjan Brand <kjb@dds.nl> for their suggestions, and special thanks to Skylar Thompson <skylar@cs.earlham.edu> who pointed me in the right direction. You're right, Skylar, the problem with the Mylex is that the firmware is too old - the DAC960 modules in the Linux kernel tree only support firmware versions >= 2.73, my controller has 2.4. So, I'll have to upgrade it, just downloaded the necessary files form www.mylex.com. I think I'll try the update in the next days, and then it should work. Didn't solve the BIOS-problem yet, but I had an old SCSI-HDD lying around, connected that to one of the internal Adaptecs, and was able to install RH 7.3 completely on this HDD. So, the machine is running, maybe I'll check out the RH Shrike Mailing list for the BIOS-problem. I'll inform the list when I've found a solution there or somewhere else. Okay, I did this, and tried to load the module > "Mylex DAC960".
