Any Linux Guru, I am trying to recover from my NIS server crashing. I have created a new NIS master server which is running and authenticating. My problem is that when I run "make" I am getting 2 different errors. One error is that when it tries to update maps to a slave server I get the error "RPC: Program not registered." And the other problem is that "make" never finishes. Here is what it shows: gmake[1]: Entering directory `/var/yp/foobar.com' Updating hosts.byname... And it just freezes there. My previous NIS master server only had 5 files in the /var/yp/foobar.com directory. They were group.bygid, group.byname, passwd.byname, passwd.byuid, & ypservers. It appears that "make" is trying to update the hosts.byname file but it is not present in that directory. Any ideas or help would be appreciated. I am running Redhat Linux 7.2. Thank you, Bill _______________________________________________ LinuxManagers mailing list - http://www.linuxmanagers.org submissions: LinuxManagers@linuxmanagers.org subscribe/unsubscribe: http://www.linuxmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/linuxmanagers
