Sorry, I left out some info in my original post, let me make some clarifications and an update on my progress since then : * we can only connect one VPN user at a time from the NAT'd IP address, we want to be able to connect about four. Attempts to connect more than one user result in the original connection being dropped. * The PPTP server is running linux-2.4.7 I have since downloaded linux-2.4.20 and patched it with pptp-conntrack-nat from the netfilter "patch-o-matic". Hopefully this will alleviate the problem. My other options, if this does not work for some reason, seem to be : * give all VPN users public IPs ( firewalled of course, but more expensive and hence undesirable ). * have a machine set up at the site where the VPN users are and forward their VPN traffic through that. This is ok, but it causes there to be a single point of failure which is undesirable. I will summarize with whatever works best for my case. In the meantime, I would be most grateful to hear from anyone with experience in this area, just to make sure I'm on the right track.
