Anonymous FTP Server

Hi Guys,

I am using a script to install an anonyous ftp server on my linux box. 
 I am able to get files from the anonymous ftp but I can seem to put 
files in the pub directory and I get the following error:

ftp> mput filelist
mput filelist? y
227 Entering Passive Mode (192,168,1,11,68,157)
550 filelist: Permission denied on server. (Filename (accept))

The permission on my pub directory is:
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     other          7 Apr  6 16:07 bin -> usr/bin
dr-xr-xr-x   2 root     other        512 Apr  6 16:08 dev
dr-xr-xr-x   3 root     other        512 Apr  6 15:57 etc
drwxr-xr-t   2 root     other        512 Apr  6 16:08 pub
dr-xr-xr-x   5 root     other        512 Apr  6 15:57 usr

Any ideas as to why I am not able to put files on the server?  I am at a 
loss.
