I ran into an issue when upgrading a server from Redhat 6.2 to Redhat 7.3 where, for some unknown reason, the kernel is not loading the DAC960 SCSI RAID driver. I think the problem lies in to the initrd image, but I am having trouble figuring out the best way to add the driver to the image. I know I need to use 'mkinitrd' to redo the image, but I am not sure what will force it to load the correct driver. I added an alias to the modules.conf file for the driver (it is now identical to another box running the DAC960 driver). Will that force mkinitrd to load that driver in the image? My main problem is that the kernel is panicing on the /root mount because it cannot read the RAID which is under control of the Mylex RAID controller. Here is the error: root ext3 Mount root filesystem mount error 6 mounting ext3 pivot_root (/sysroot, /sysroot/initrd) failed: 2 kernel panic: No init found. ry passing init= option to kernel I thought at first this was part of Redhat Bug 65207 (seehttps://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=65207 for more info) but I have tried all the fixes for that bug. I am running LILO as the boot loader.
