Hi: One of the very first things I learned as a Linux user was to never log into a box as root, and to especially deny remote root logins. In my new company I have observed admins routinely log into servers in remote data centers as root. In fact root logins is the only mode that is used to manage these remote servers. Here is my question to you gurus: Doesn't this practice pose the same kind of risk as me remotely logging into my Linux box from a public library, or is there a principle that I am missing here? Will summarize your comments, Qv6 _______________________________________________ LinuxManagers mailing list - http://www.linuxmanagers.org submissions: LinuxManagers@linuxmanagers.org subscribe/unsubscribe: http://www.linuxmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/linuxmanagers
