System locks up or reboots, keyboard LEDs flash
The subject tells most of the story actually. My system sometimes
reboots itself, and sometimes locks up entirely. When it locks up, the
scroll lock and caps lock LEDs on the keyboard start flashing on and off
approx once per second.
My system is a Compaq Deskpro with a Pentium processor. I'm running
kernel 2.4.20 (home built, but a stock kernel from kernel.org, with no
patches) over a SuSE 6.4 based system with some software upgrades (too
numerous to list, but probably nothing relevant). My primary FSs are
ext3 & reiser.
I have tried changing motherboard (with integrated gfx card), processor
and RAM to no avail. There are a couple of net cards that have remained
constant, along with the hard disks.
No messages appear to make it into the log, or get as far as the console.
The problem started yesterday morning at about 4am, and after a reboot
the system lasted about 16 hours, but failures are getting more and more
frequent, and it seems to only last about 30 mins on average now. Would
really appreciate it if anyone can help...
Thanks!
