Linux porting to PPC target - Reg

Hi,

Presently we are porting Linux to PPC405GPr target and we are using
x86/Redhat7.2 as host. We have donwnloaded the Linux distribution from
ftp.denx.de and we followed as given below
   make menuconfig
      Selected Processor type as 40x
      Selected Machine type as Walnut
   make dep
   make clean
   make zImage

But during the last step, the compiler reported the following error.

powerpc-linux-gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/home/artha/t1/linux/include -Wall
-Wstrict-prototypes -Wno-trigraphs -O2 -fno-strict-aliasing -fno-common
-fomit-frame-pointer -I/home/artha/t1/linux/arch/ppc -fsigned-char
-msoft-float -pipe -ffixed-r2 -Wno-uninitialized -mmultiple -mstring -Wa,
-m405 -DKBUILD_BASENAME=main -c -o init/main.o init/main.c
Assembler messages:
Error: invalid switch -m405
init/main.c: In function `quiet_kernel':
init/main.c:215: output pipe has been closed
make: *** [init/main.o] Error 1

Please let me know that whether we had missed some settings or the
distribution is wrong. If any patch is required to be installed, please
advice us.

Since last few days we are suffering to make the system up, your valuable
guidance will enable us to progress in a positive direction.

Thanks & Regards
