Betreff: Follow-Up: sendmail and mx-records

Hi managers,

and many thanks to everyone who replied to my initial posting.
But, it didn't helped me out:
Just tried a sendmail -q -v with some mails in queue, and before that
deleted
the original line in sendmail.cf, leaving just the "DS" there - and,
sendmail
didn't do an MX-lookup at all.
The msg. was directed to dh9dat@cityweb.de (one of my old addresses, but
still
online), and sendmail tried to connect cityweb.de with esmtp, without taking

care of the MX-record (this one points to smtp.cityweb.de, checked it with
nslookup before).
Don't know what's going wrong there. If someone has an idea, I would send my

complete sendmail.cf directly - don't want to post it to the list, since
it's
a little big, :-)
I already checked nsswitch.conf and resolv.conf - they are okay, and
nslookup
etc. works fine. (I'm using the same machine not only as an MTA, but also as

a DNS and a proxy, without any problems - so, it seems to be a
"sendmail-specific" problem.
Btw.: Klaus-Peter Thiessen told me about another relay,
smtprelay.t-online.de
- but, using this would cost abt. 8 $ a month - I don't want to pay this.
Okay, it's cheap - but I don't think it's worth paying for such a - in my
opinion - normal feature.

Hope someone has an idea...

Thanks to all,

Harald
