Hi all, I have a redhat 7.2 system ( 2.4 kernel ). I am trying to install kernel 2.4.20. Since I wanted to enable netfilter, * I did a kernel recompilation on 2.4.20. * I selected network yes also. * In network devices, I selected eepro, dlink ... network card support. But when I boot from the new kernel (2.4.20), my eth0 is missing. ifconfig eth0 complains that device eth0 is not found. - I have an ethernet card installed in my system - The old kernel recognizes that. I did the following steps. 1. make mrproper 2. make distclean 3. make clean ---- Hope no other cleaning options are available --- 4. make xconfig 5. make dep 6. make clean 7. make bzImage 8. make modules 9. make modules_install I am able to boot from the new kernel. But eth0 is missing. What could be the problem. regards Sudheesh -- Sudheesh K Software Engineer EDA Softjin Infotech Pvt. Ltd.
