I recently added a 2nd processor and OS didn't recognize it. Computer: DELL 1550 OS: Redhat 7.1 Kernel: 2.4.2-2 The BIOS tells me I have 2 processors but the OS didn't pick it up. The kernel install is a vanilla one from Redhat 7.1 and these are the kernel packages installed: kernel-headers-2.4.2-2 kernel-pcmcia-cs-3.1.24-2 kernel-2.4.2-2 kernel-smp-2.4.2-2 And in /proc/cpuinfo I only get 1 cpu. more /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 6 model : 8 model name : Pentium III (Coppermine) stepping : 10 cpu MHz : 931.032 cache size : 256 KB fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no f00f_bug : no coma_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 3 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 mmx fxsr sse bogomips : 1854.66 Is there a switch I need to set for the kernel/config to pickup the other CPU?
