Hello, Linux Managers... I've got a guru-level question for y'all. Hope you can help. System: Redhat 7.1, stock kernel 2.4.2-2 QLogic ISP1080 SCSI-2 controller Cybernetics CY-8050 AIT-2 Tape drive (Sony SDX-500C hardware) Problem: Due to a fat-finger error on my part, I overwrote about the first meg worth of data on the tape. That tarball is now all that the drive 'sees' -- I'm looking to ressurect all the data after that on the tape. Using mt to go to the end of the tape and then fsf 1 after it fails, on both Linux and the SGI Irix boxes I have here. I'm looking at hacking the st driver to ignore the EOD marker, and just dump stuff off the end of the tape... Any ideas before I go traipsing around in kernel space? Will summarize responses from list and my end results. --mec _______________________________________________ LinuxManagers mailing list - http://www.linuxmanagers.org submissions: LinuxManagers@linuxmanagers.org subscribe/unsubscribe: http://www.linuxmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/linuxmanagers
