Hi, I'm trying to replace my Windows NT-based Dial-Up service (RAS) with a new (and better I hope) solution. This system must allow the end-user (equipped with Windows 2000 and NT) to dial in, establish a connection with the NT Domain, and access at a minimum email, and IP connectivity with other servers in the network. Why? 1) The local NT server is now hosting an application that cannot be 'down' during working hours - which here cover 2 shifts. At times past I've had to restart the NT server to restart the RAS service - either the restart has to wait until 2 a.m. or everyone has to stop working. Neither is a good idea. A separate box would be a 'good thing'. 2) Our corporate office has a VPN gateway (and it works mighty well) BUT we have some key users in the local area who only have xDSL access at home - and they want to be able to access email "out of the office but not at home". Any help, tips advice or flames appreciated in advance.
