Hello Managers, I have a question regarding software raid and the ability to remove and reinsert drives. In the past I have always used hardware raid as we are mostly a Compaq VAR. I have recently been given the task of setting up two identically configured DL320 servers without hardware RAID and Red Hat 7.2. I have one system set up with software RAID 1 on all partitions except swap and both have swap space allocated, I was wondering if I could remove one drive, install it in the second system with a second unformatted drive, replacing the broken mirror in the original system with a clean unformatted drive and have both systems rebuild the mirrors. The last time I looked at software RAID was with the 2.0 and early 2.2 kernels.
