re [PATCH] hso.c mutex fixups

I'll send the patches to Jeff too.

I checked out 2.6.27-rc5 today & unfortunately the mutex fixup patch I
posted to the mailing list didn't make it in :-(
I'll repost this to the network mailing list.

I'll be hopefully posting a throttling/unthrottling patch
for the hso driver tomorrow. It at least doesn't crash
my machine & may work properly.

I'd be very interested in getting a few eyes looking at it to
see if I've done anything stupid.
