I use FreeDOS and DOSEMU exits when launching BBELITE with the kernel 2036
and your one 2040. It occures with an empty "config.sys" too.

I don't use an image file. The problem regarding network drives occures
with PC/GEOS version 1.x (from GeoWorks). Newer versions have file system
drivers to allow access to mapped network drives. There is an option to
force the installation onto a network drive (run the installer with
"install.exe on drive <DRIVE_LETTER>" and confirm message about fixed
drive).

I have the Breadbox Ensemble FULL version running fine on this DOSEMU
installation. The required driver is "msnet.geo" and this driver is
contained in the LITE version too.

Thank you for the clarification. I have attached the "boot.log" (your
kernel 2040 used).

Greetings
Andreas
