emm.sys comes with dosemu.  the x= parts of your command are just
excluding certain memory areas from being managed by the emm driver.
Depending on why those areas are being excluded, it may not be necessary
to do that in your dosemu install.

Try loading emm.sys instead of emm386.exe and see if anything
interesting happens.
