When faced with that exact problem (multiple users need access to files created
by a DOS program) I run dosemu with a short script that sets the default file
permissions for that session and loads and runs a front-end menu:
umask 002
xdosemu -I 'keystroke "cd barghntr\rrunbarg\r"'
