It's Synchronet BBS, which is not a packet BBS at all. It's more like
a dial-up BBS, but designed to be accessed over the internet via a
suite of Telnet, SSH, HTTP, NNTP, FTP, and various other services.
Synchronet is not packet or AX.25 aware at all and is entirely geared
toward IP. So I'm working on allowing AX.25 clients to connect to it.
There are other approaches that I could take - I've used JNOS as a
telnet gateway, with some success, but I'm looking for a cleaner and
more automated way of doing it.

Yes, as I said in my original post, I can do that and the output is
what I'm expecting to see.
