The significant part of your patch removes -WError from compilation 
options.
I tested both Fedora 17 (just a few days old) and Fedora 11 before 
releasing. But with WError, you never know.
(Should probably remove -WError from releases.)

Perhaps you can post the error you got that made the compilation fail?
