as a preface:
i've read suggestions about using udev and associated magic
toward a solution. i am not convinced that the way to go.

as the nics integrated into the motherboard, reference to them must
exist withing the bios. by implication, this well prior to a kernel
loading, and executing modules for udev (hotswap) hardware.
the approach i would attempt, is to assign a static irq and addr to
each device, within the bios, and pass that information to the kernel via
tbe bootloader. just a thought ...
