For both potential modem cards, I can't get a modem driver

Predictive  diagnostics for card in bus fake:
	Modem chipset not detected on
NAME="FakeName"
CLASS=FakeClass
PCIDEV=8086:2a44
SUBSYS=17aa:20e6
IRQ=fake

 For candidate modem in:  fake
   FakeClass FakeName
      Primary device ID:  8086:2a44
 Support type needed or chipset:

I can't seem to find a driver, but I can recommend you try out the
linuxant page

http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/index.php

and see if you can test their tool to see if you have a supported modem:

http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/modemident.php
