Download martian-full-20080625.tar.gz from LinModems Resource Page:
http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/kernel-2.6/martian/martian-full-20080625.tar.gz
Copy it to your linux partition. Use this package since you are
running 2.6.27.12 kernel
$ tar -zxvf martian-full-20080625.tar.gz
$ cd martian-full-20080625
$ make all
$ sudo make install
$ sudo modprobe martian_dev
$ sudo martian_modem
Leave it running, and then open a new terrmial and type
$ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
and hope it finds the modem port /dev/ttySM0
If it does find it, open file /etc/wvdial.conf with sudo priviledges
and add your username, password, ISP phone number and a add a line
"Carrier Check = no" to the file and save it. Then try to connect
with
$ sudo wvdial.

estas corriendo el 2.6.27.12 kernel, necesitas el archivo de arriba.
Usa este archivo en tu version de linux, y haz lo siguiente ya que
tengas este archivo disponible
$ tar -zxvf martian-full-20080625.tar.gz
$ cd martian-full-20080625
$ make all
$ sudo make install
$ sudo modprobe martian_dev
$ sudo martian_modem
Deja corriendo no lo cierres (CTRL + C) lo cierra, y haz lo siguiente
habre otro terminal y pon
$ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
y haber si encuentra el modem port /dev/ttySM0
Si acaso si lo encuentra, habre el archivo /etc/wvdial con privilegios
sudo para poder guardar el archivo y agregra el telefono del ISP,
clave y una linea "Carrier Check = no" y luego intenta conectarte con
$ sudo wvdial.
