The price is fine, the confusion is that people aren't getting that point when looking at the product on the shelf. (aside from the proof on this list). It looks like it is competing with XP on the shelf even though it is not a similar product. Maybe the marketing could use a bit of tweaking so the un-initiated can make a more informed decision. Actually the difference between standard and pro editions aside from cost is similarly fogged. The previous discussions have clearly indicated that the market interest in a 'pro' edition is there. However, the lack of clarity as to the extra value in the 'pro' edition leaves many to default to 'cant see the difference - buy the cheaper' kind of decision making. I see the opportunity to make a killing by clearing these points up so that RedHat can capture more of the market by hooking the impulse buy. An expamle would be, I might buy anyones alternate OS out of frustration with the one I have. I consider that an impulse buy. BUT, for example, if I am only comparing OS and my present one is 250.00, would I buy the 50.00 or 150 copy of the alternate solution. My point is, to the casual shopper, THIS IS WHAT THEY SEE. If 8.0 is received as well as we think, maybe 8.1 marketing could look into helping fix this confusion.
