Edit your /usr/share/hwdata/pcitable 0x5333 0x8d02 "unknown" "S3 Inc.|VT8636A [ProSavage KN133] AGP4X VGA Controller (TwisterK)" Make this line read: 0x5333 0x8d02 "Card:S3 Savage4" "S3 Inc.|VT8636A [ProSavage KN133] AGP4X VGA Controller (TwisterK)" Then try redhat-config-xfree86 --reconfig. If that doesn't work then you may need to try different settings by manually editing your XF86Config file. > > What is the change in the driver? I'm guessing Mike Harris got it from here. There's release notes on this page. http://www.probo.com/timr/savage40.html > > I note that Mandrake 9.0RC2 likes the laptop _very_ much as well as my DWL-650 > wireless ethernet card which it autodetects and configures, something null > won't do. I think Mandrake 9.0RC2 uses XFree86 4.2.1. Does your DWL-650 wireless ethernet card have the Intersil Prism2 chipset? If so does Mandrake include the linux-wlan-ngen drivers? (Please send me a file listing of everything in /lib/modules/ on your Mandrake installation.)
