Are you using the SCSI Zip 100's internal termination? I've found that
the internal term on the Zip 100's starts degrading (not working as well
as it used to) after a while, and I've seen this cause hangs on both
Macs using internal (NCR) SCSI and PCs running Linux or Windows with
Adaptec cards. If you aren't already, try disabling the internal
termination on the Zip 100 and do something else to terminate the bus.
