SHUTTLE ATLANTIS MOVE PHOTO OPPORTUNITY RESET FOR FEB. 2
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. â?? The move of space shuttle Atlantis at NASAâ??s
Kennedy Space Center, Fla., that had been postponed for Thursday,
Feb. 2, now is back on for Feb. 2. The start of the move is set for
noon EST.
Media need to be at Kennedyâ??s Press Site by 11 a.m. for transportation
to the move.
Shuttle teams were able to develop a way to work around the minor
issue with ground support equipment that prompted managers to call
for the delay on Wednesday afternoon.
Atlantis currently is in Kennedyâ??s Vehicle Assembly Building transfer
aisle and will be moved into the buildingâ??s high bay 4 for temporary
storage. Atlantis is being prepared for public display at the Kennedy
Space Center Visitor Complex in 2013.
Images of the move will be available in Kennedy's Media Gallery online
at:
