NASA INVITES MEDIA TO TWO SHUTTLE MOVE PHOTO OPPORTUNITY ON JAN. 31
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Media are invited to a photo opportunity of
two space shuttles moving to different locations at NASA's Kennedy
Space Center in Florida on Tuesday, Jan. 31.
First, shuttle Endeavour will move from the Vehicle Assembly Building
(VAB) to its processing hangar, Orbiter Processing Facility-2
(OPF-2). Following Endeavour's move shuttle Atlantis will be moved
from the VAB transfer aisle and take Endeavour's place in the
building's high bay 4.
First motion of Endeavour is set for about 8 a.m. EST. Media must
arrive at Kennedy's Press Site by 7 a.m. for transportation to the
event.
Journalists without NASA Kennedy accreditation need to apply for
credentials by noon Jan. 30. International media accreditation for
this event is closed. Badges can be picked up at the Kennedy Space
Center Badging Office on State Road 405. Media must apply for
credentials online at:
https://media.ksc.nasa.gov
Any updates on the move will be available at 321-867-2525.
In OPF-2, Endeavour will undergo preparations for public display at
the California Science Center in Los Angeles in the second half of
this year. Atlantis will remain temporarily stored in the VAB.
