NASA INVITES MEDIA TO SHUTTLE ATLANTIS' MOVE TO VAB
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Media are invited to a photo opportunity as
shuttle Atlantis moves from its processing hangar to the Vehicle
Assembly Building (VAB) on Friday, Jan. 20, at NASA's Kennedy Space
Center in Florida.
Atlantis is scheduled to move at about 8 a.m. EST. Media must arrive
at Kennedy's Press Site by 7 a.m. for transportation to the
operation.
Journalists without NASA Kennedy accreditation need to apply for
credentials by noon Jan. 19. International media accreditation for
this event is closed. Badges can be picked up at the Kennedy Space
Center Badging Office on State Road 405. Media must apply for
credentials online at:
https://media.ksc.nasa.gov
Any updates on the move will be available at 321-867-2525.
Inside the VAB, Atlantis will be temporarily stored while shuttle
Endeavour undergoes transition and retirement processing. Atlantis is
being prepared for public display at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor
Complex in 2013.
Highlights of the move will air on the NASA Television's Video File.
