this is not because of SMP. check u chap setting and ietd.conf. if need,
check the network traffic as well.

u mean normal kernel and smp kernel? rhel4 include open-iscsi or u
install it.

if u want to check this, then use tcpdump to capture both traffic with 2
different kernels and send to us.
