Point taken - I was asking because Rolf (on meetthegimp) demo'd some of 
the 2.5 features two weeks ago and is apparently going to be showing a 
new tool this week. I wish I had the knowledge/tools to roll-my-own but 
am dependent on the "kindness of strangers" :-)

 From following the discussions on Gimp-dev list (and keeping an eye on 
what gets committed per bugzilla) it looks like things are moving along 
at a pretty good pace. I'd personally be happy with ANY build from Head 
- and maybe if its not too onerous something like once a month 
thereafter. I realize that nightlies a la Firefox would require 
infrastructure not available to the project and interest in using 
windows interim builds  is also much lower - though there ARE 3000+ 
members of this yahoo-group.

If anyone has a windows build of gimp 2.5.x (where x is any date) and 
for some reason doesn't want to post here pls. feel free to contact me 
offlist.
