Hi Ritergal,

I don't know what GIMPVS is (though I think it has to do with the fact 
that GIMP normally uses its own windowing toolkit instead of the 
standard Microsoft windowing classes - in the Visual Studio version this 
seems to have been substituted for the standard window tools of MS 
Windows which would make the application OS dependant, but supposedly 
faster[?] while maintaining a standard look and feel)

There is also a GIMP version out there which tries to emulate the look 
and feel of Photoshop - in case you feel like trying different versions.

The reason I reply, however, is: what do you mean when you say 
adjustment layers? I haven't seen any in the GIMP 2.4....?
