I do not have UFRaw in GimPhoto nor Gimp-2.4.2.(I re-installed after
erasing all folders, no UFRaw.) 

I just tried to open a TIF file, and same thing happened, Gimp-2.4.2
took a long time, and GimPhoto 1.4 is much faster after loading the
alpha channel.
